Born in St Ives (Cornwall) in 1956 he has no recall of The Leach Pottery as he moved to Lowerdown later that year. His grandfather Bernard, already an elderly gentleman when he was born was quite an impressive figure within the family and he remembers quite clearly one Christmas he gave him the advice "look for beauty but also usefulness in a pot".  Words he still carry with him today.

In 1990 he moved to Eastern Spain and continued his work in Stoneware, Porcelain and Raku.
